Breaching Hollow Core Floors
The Rescue Operations Working Group recently carried out operational tests on hollow core concrete floors. Rescue Operations Lead, Lee Giffard from Hampshire FRS, offers information to USAR personnel, advises of the potential risks and recommends techniques to be adopted when conducting breaching operations through this type of construction.

Atherstone on Stour
On Friday 2nd November 2007 a fire broke out at a large vegetable packing plant in Atherstone on Stour, Warwickshire. Four firefighters tragically died in the firefighting operation, three being trapped in the building when it collapsed.
