  UKFSSART Duty Rota
There are currently 13 Fire & Rescue Services (FRS) teams that support UKFSSART and are present on the duty rota. These FRS teams are divided into 2 rota groups, each rota group works a 4-month cycle. The cycle involves periods of 'immediate response' and 'secondary response'.

Immediate Response (IR) : indicates readiness to deploy to a point of departure (POD) in the UK, arriving within 6 hours of receiving a deployment notification.

Secondary Response (SB): indicates readiness to deploy within 24-hours of receiving a deployment notification.

Once a deployment takes place the Secondary Response group will become the Immediate Response group for the remaining rota period and the next planned rota period before returning to secondary response.

There will be an internal rota within each rota group and the 6th/7th team in each rota will be deployed to the airport but may not be deployed onto the plane. This will provide resilience to each deployment in case of accident or non-availability.
Operations Officer
Operations Commander
At least 1 Operations Officer will be selected from amongst the teams making up each rota group.
On deployment the Operations Officer will be responsible for the tactical planning and operational management of the fire service teams.

  UKFSSART Annual Rota Progression
Each year, the rota cycle changes in order to give a fair distribution of the restrictions associated with immediate response. So that Christmas and other public holidays can be divided equally between the rota groups, the cycle varies year on year.
